Victoria, a first-time calendar girl and Muddbunnies team racer, got a chance to rip it up for our March photo shoot. Our photographer Clayton Racicot along with other team members had spent the better part of the day defying gravity and carving corners at the Whistler Bike Park. Not yet pushed to the point of exhaustion (or at least not willing to admit it), we headed to the stunning trails surrounding the Emerald Estates neighborhood in Whistler, BC. Victoria, always seeking to demonstrate that you can’t have too much of a good thing, joined the group in preparing for our next single track adventure.
The high intensity Bunnie vibe proved too much to resist for a local border collie hanging around the parking area. Full of confidence and spark, he introduced and ingratiated himself to us in typical doggie fashion, licking faces and requesting back scratches. “Thiefâ€, as we dubbed him, was happy to lead us out for another round of trail riding.
Even though we were exhausted from the bike park, Thief’s unbounded enthusiasm was contagious. The Bunnies followed the pup, up and down the tight, twisty trails. As if the challenging terrain weren’t enough, Thief insisted on chasing and retrieving sticks for the duration of the ride – and barking incessantly when we weren’t quick enough with the attention. None the worse for wear at the end of our shoot, Thief followed back to the parking area, and his fairly angry owner. During the demanding pups time with us a stick was thrown no less than 1 million times.
