SOMBRIO – DAKINE BAVARIAN BETTIES JOIN THE RANKS OF THE BC BIKE RACE “THE PACIFIC TRAVERSEâ€
Vancouver, B.C. June 27, 2007- We are proud to announce that Andrea Kraft Costigan and Carmen Turner the Sombrio-Dakine Bavarian Betties will be attending the BC Bike Race “the Pacific Traverseâ€. Starting July 1, Canada day. This 7 day epic mountain bike stage will take the Bavarian Betties over 500 km off road from Victoria to Whistler.
After a nail biting final in the Race Face UXC (Ultimate Cross Country Challenge) this dynamic duo of intrepid adventurers were without a race to do. On the eve of a great disappointment for the Betties, came the best news possible, an invitation from the President, Dean Payne, and Course Designer/Spokesman Andreas Hestler, of the BC Bike Race to come and join in.
Payne the founder of the BC Bike Race commented “These girls are the heart and sole of mountain biking, how can we not make room for them in our event? They have created a truly unique video and have been training very hard.â€
For those of you not familiar with the Race Face UXC, it is an online video contest, where the finalists are to collect votes for their video. Those with the most votes are then taken to Europe to race in the Trans Alps Challenge- a truly awesome event!
