Hello! We’ve just finished a run of five consecutive camps and finally have a minute to sit down to send you all an update.
First off, the last set of camps was nothing short of fantastic. We held two up at Whistler, and they felt like our two best hometown camps yet. Somehow things get more dialed all the time, and people learn more all the time. Seeing participants finish their weekend with huge smiles on their faces is the greatest thing ever.
The Hood River and Bend camps were fantastic too and the Calgary camp had the longest wait list we’ve had in years. We kept increasing the numbers of scheduled coaches and still couldn’t meet the demand. I think the move to the Bragg Creek trails was a good one so many thanks to Janet and Caralyn for suggesting and facilitating that.
The weekend after this one we have another Whistler camp, which also happens to be our first co-ed camp of the season. It’d been sold out for quite a while but the Whistler camps in August and September still have space so if you’re interested in those, register here.
We head to Winter Park, CO in mid July, and meet up with World Champion Tracy Moseley for some star-studded guest coaching. There are just a few spots left in that camp but quite a few more the very next weekend in Park City, UT. That town has so many amazing trails and has produced so many incredible camps. If you’re at all inclined to make a trip to a true mountain biking destination come join us there.
We’ll finish July off at a camp in Portland, hosted by the Bike Gallery and held out at the new (and award winning) Sandy Ridge trail system. Trek’s put together a great press release on that location so if you’d like a copy please let us know by clicking here, and we’ll send one your way. Registration details for the Portland camp are here .
In our last email we mentioned that Trek would send out a very cool Bontrager pump to anyone who purchased a Trek bike three months on either side of their camp participation. That’s still on offer but they’ve added one more — a $100 gift certificate towards a bike purchase, as long as the bike is $1500 and up, and the certificate is obtained before the purchase is made. If you’d like a certificate please email us here.
As many of you know, we have a facebook page. It’s here and includes coach updates, participant comments, and the kind of community interaction that makes us so happy that we get to do what we do. If you haven’t liked us yet, it’d be super nice if you did.
The fact that we have a facebook page is thanks to the initiative of two coaches, Courtney and Pam, and the fact that we’ve now started on twitter is thanks to another, this time Penny Deck. If you’d like to follow us on twitter, do so here .
That’s it for now. We hope you’re all doing great and enjoying this first bit of summer (by the dates at least).
Candace, Jo and the rest of the Trek Dirt Series team.
