FVMBA TOONIES RACES BEGINS THIS WEEK!

The FVMBA All Mountain Toonie Races Series is open to anyone with a Cycling BC UCI/Citizen license and a FVMBA membership. Not a FVBMA member yet? That can easily be taken care of at http://www.fvmba.com.

Racing is always on Sunday and starts 10am sharp!

The Valley’s bike shops, that have been supporting FVMBA over the years, and have stepped in to sponsor one of the events in their area.

March 6th Mission XC – Wentings Cycles
*Wentings will also have an assortment of 2011 demo bikes for guys to try out.*
-Brand new 2011 Devinci Wilson, Dixon, Dexter will be availible. Wanting to try out one of the much talked about 29’ers that are hitting the market this year? Wentings will also have a Fisher Rumblefish 5″ dualie 29 ‘er, and a Opus Avro1 Hardtail 29 ‘er. If folks wishing to take any of these rigs for a test ride they should bring their own shoes, pedals and helmet.

April 3rd Sumas AM – Lifecycles
May 15th Vedder Super D – Jacks Cycles
June 5th Sumas Super D – Cranky’s Bike Shop
Sept 11th Red XC – Velocity Cycles
Oct 2nd Bear Super D – Wentings Cycles

On race day, every rider will be entered for draw prizes from the supporting bike shop. Series points will be awarded at each race for the Overall Series Prize. Abbotsford’s Avenue Body Shop will be sponsoring a Crash Ca$h award at each race for the rider with the worse wreck during each race.

We are also having a separate prize category for racers that race all the XC and Super D races on the same bike. This doesn’t mean you have to though. If you feel you can win the Overall Series on a course specific bike, bring on your nimble climbing steed for the XC races and your longer travel machine for the SuperD’s. To entice riders to race the whole Toonie Series, Kintec is sponsoring a draw prizes for both male and female riders who compete in every race of the Series. This Series is tailored for the guys & gals who love to shred every style of riding the Valley has to offer – you don’t have to be solely XC or DH to do well.

The first race is coming up fast. Wentings Cycles is presenting FVMBA All Mountain Toonie Race Series #1, March 6th at Heritage Park in Mission. It’s a technical XC race that will appeal to the hidden racer in all of us. You will need to race this race to qualify for Overall Series points. Registration starts at 8am and racing is a 10am sharp!

Pre-purchase your Cycling BC license prior to race day. Cycling BC licenses won’t be sold on site and you won’t be able to race without a UCI/Citizen/Club Affiliated License. Visit (www.fvmba.com) for your membership and Series Info.

FVMBA membership $20, cost to race all 6 Toonie Races $12. This adds up to some serious low doe racing!
