Getting Tara Llanes Back Where She Belongs…

On dirt!

For those of you who do not know Tara Llanes, she raced mountain bikes professionally for 13 years in downhill, dual slalom, and 4x.  She won the US National Championships in downhill as a Junior and as a Pro.  Shes also won the Dual Slalom and the 4x US National Championships; a Gold, two Silvers, and two Bronze medals at the X-Games and raced for such factory teams as Specialized, Yeti, and Giant Bicycles.

Needless to say mountain biking is her passion.  In 2007 she had a really bad crash and broke both her neck and back.  From that day forward her life completely changed.

A page was created to raise funds to get Tara back on a pedal bike.  Check it out here:  http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=230946063617588

It is time to get Tara back to where she belongs ..on Dirt, the sidelines is not a place for a spirit like T’s!

The fundraiser consists mostly of collection individual personal donations – https://reg.ccnbikes.com/index.php/pledge/80.  A number of companies have also donated items which will be auctioned off on the CCN website (hopefully the auction will be online within the week).  There will be some great items, including product from Sombrio, Contour, Troy Lee Designs and Chromag, a Costa Rica DH trip from Big Mountain, Anneke Beerten’s autographed UCI Championship jersey.  Plus the Athertons will be auctioning one of their team bikes.
