Our 2013 W.O.W. event is packed with fun! Our huge free event will have complimentary wine, beer, and food; representatives from all our major brands; inspiring speakers; amazing discounts on clothing, accessories and bikes; free gift bag to the first 350 guests, $1 raffle (cash only); and more all at this special one night only experience!
KEY NOTE SPEAKER: April Streeter (Women on Wheels Book)
After a writing career focused on sustainability, including a stint as managing editor of Sustainable Industries magazine, April Streeter shifted her focus to sustainable mobility and bike advocacy. She hosts a women’s bike group of nearly 400 members (www.meetup.com/womenonwheels) to encourage and support women riders; blogs at TreeHugger.com; and contributes to a variety of magazines, including Green Mobility, Ethical Corporation and Nordic Cleantech Review. Women on Wheels is her first book.
April Streeter, author of Women on Wheels, A Handbook and How-to for City Cyclists will discuss women, cycling, and why riding a bike is (still) a revolutionary act. The presentation will include a brief history of women’s cycling an
d some of the fearless females who flouted the conventions of their day to pioneer the popularity of biking. She offers inspiration for both new and experienced city cyclists.

Founded by Ann DeOtte Kaufman, Iva Jean provides products and resources that inspire women to incorporate biking into their everyday lives. They launched their first product, the Rain Cape, in fall of 2011 and recently announced their expanded line available Spring 2013. MC: Welcome back to Kat Sweet as our MC for the evening. She has been trained by IMIC and coaches her own program called Sweetlines. She’s a Cat 1 downhill mountain bike racer who’s competed in the X-Games. Now she is the Youth Program Coordinator at Cascade Bicycle Club and manages summer Dirt Camps and runs Trips for Kids Seattle, a Cascade Program which provides mountain bike outings and environmental education for kids who would not otherwise have these opportunities.

RAFFLE: This years raffle will include amazing cycling products!  Raffle tickets are $1 each (cash only) and all proceeds will be donated to the not-for-profit organizations featured at the event.
A fashion show will highlight some of the best looks of the season, all available for sale the night of the event! Pickup a schedule of Seattle area cycling events for 2013, chat with local cycling advocates, meet other women cyclists, and meet industry reps and cycling experts!
