Vancouver, BC – From Bikes to Baking: Brodie Team Rider Amber Zirnhelt fundraises for 2007 Canada Cup Series and NORBAs

Brodie Bikes Team Rider and local downhill pro Amber Zirnhelt, is stirring things up on the trails, and in the kitchen. The 2006 season was her first year racing pro elite in downhill, and not only did she have a great season, she rode away with the overall provincial point series title.

To step things up in the 2007 season, Zirnhelt has her eyes set on racing the Canada Cup series, Sea Otter (CA) and a select few NORBAs in the USA.

And to help her get there, Zirnhelt has put together ‘Amber’s Battery’ – a power food cookbook full of recipes specifically for people with an active lifestyle. The cookbook is packed with 40 easy, yummy recipes and includes color photos of Zirnhelt riding.

“My goal for the 2007 season is to continue to be active in the mountain bike community, not only as a professional racer, but also as a guide, coach, rider and role model for both youth and adults,” Zirnhelt says.

“I want to encourage other people to get outside and ride and I want to be an ambassador for BC and the Vancouver riding community while doing so. The cookbook will help support me in realizing these dreams and achieving my riding goals for 2007. I really appreciate the support Brodie Bikes and our riding community has provided me so far.”

Zirnhelt hopes that the cookbook will be an inspiration both in the kitchen and for people to get outside in the cycling community.

Books are available for $8 at John Henry the Bicycle Man, On Top Bike Shop and Bean Around the World (Mt.Seymour Parkway and 10th Avenue in Point Grey) or you can contact Zirnhelt directly at zirnhelta@yahoo.ca
