Below is a Q&A with Red Racer Beer president Darryll Frost.

What does the relationship between the Red Racer brand and cycling mean to Central City Brewing?

As a company we feel it important to embrace such a positive culture. Our head brewer Gary Lohin grew up on the North Shore and has been an avid mountain biker for most of his life. As a company we believe in the benefits the sport can have on an individuals life, and always want to encourage its active participation. Secondly, we recognize the relationship the craft beer industry has had with cycling over the years. Is there really any better way to wind down after a ride than with a nice craft beer?

Are there a lot of cyclists within the Central City / Red Racer company?

Aside from Gary, a number of us ride on a regular basis. For example, I do my best to get out on my road bike as often as possible. Be it comuiting, distance road rides, mountain biking, or even BMXing I know that most of brewery staff try to get out on their bikes as often as possible.

Thank you Darryll!

Stay tuned to meet the ladies of the 2012 Muddbunnies Race Team! This weekend marks the start of a very busy race season for our gals. The first race of the season is in Tacoma, WA on Sunday, so start thinking good thoughts for the competing ladies!
