Sweet Riders offer Women Only clinics.  These clinics will cater to women in order to build girl power. It is amazing to be able to feel the magic of learning and trying new skills with your female peers. Believe me, I have felt the magic and love spreading the word. KAREY LEE WATANABE, founder and head coach of Sweet Riders Japan, has been living and racing in Japan for 20 years. She holds three Japanese DH Series Champion titles and has raced in World Cups, the Canadian National Series and Norba events in various countries around the world. She currently holds a CMIC license and has worked for the North American Trek Dirt Series as a Coach. She also has her official JMA (Japan Mountain Bike Association) instructor’s license as well as, a 40 hour wilderness first aid certificate. She is now semi-retired from racing and focusing her energy as a coach for Sweet Riders.

  

 

YACHIYO MARUYAMA, aka “Ya-Chan” head assistant and coach of Sweet Riders Japan, has been riding mountain bikes for 12 years. Formerly a cross-country elite racer, she has competed in several Japanese National Series cross-country races and some downhills, as well. Now sponsored and working for KONA Japan, she applies her experience and knowledge to help assist with Sweet Riders Japan. She also holds her official JMA (Japanese Mountain Bike Association) Instructor’s certificate and has first aid certificates as well. Fluent in Japanese, and having a good knowledge of English, she is a very important asset to the Sweet Riders Team.

 

Sweet Riders is just completed their first Canadian Camps in the infamous Crowsnest Pass in conjunction with UROC and the municipality of the Crowsnest Pass!
