New Contour Cameras – Interbike 2011

Leading the way in making action video easy to shoot and share, Contour is dedicated to creating simple tools that enable hands-free capture and effortless sharing of video online with the world.  With 3 different cameras to choose from (ContourROAM, ContourGPS and Contour+) you will definitely find one that fits both your needs and budget.

The ContourROAM is the ideal camera for a fun, stress-free experience capturing your adventures anywhere life takes you.  It is incredibly intuitive and easy to use, with a sleek, award-winning design and a laser that helps you level the camera and get the right shot every time.  The laser level is what I feel I am missing from my current video set-up.

All three cameras records the action with a 170° super wide-angle lens and you can choose between three different video resolutions, 720p, 960p and 1080p, or shoot 5 megapixel photos enabling you greater creative flexibility.  However the ContourGPS and Contour+ records and streams Full HD in all its glory.

Another very exciting feature with the ContourGPS and Contour+ is the new Bluetooth® capability that makes it possible to check your angle on a smartphone screen before dropping in or taking off!  The Contour App creates a wireless handheld viewfinder that enables you to align your shot to make sure you have the right angle and eliminate guesswork. Made for both iOS and Android, the connection also allows users to tweak settings via phone on the hill or at home.

The Contour+ is set apart from the other 2 by enabling live streaming via HDMI.  Creating a direct connection to film shoots, event coverage and contest runs. This function can be used for broadcast or simply building a following.  No other hands-free camera can make this claim, so grab this one if you’re headed to the X Games.

The places we play are rough and dirty, and Contour cameras boast they are made to withstand run-ins with everything from caked mud and kicked-up sand to raging mountain storms. The aluminum body withstands shakes, rattles and rolls while a water-resistant design sheds all types of precipitation, moisture and spray. For full submersion sports, such as surf or wake, the aftermarket waterproof case provides total dryness up to sixty meters deep.
