Ride To Vegas
For the Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), Specialized conducted its notorious annual Vegas Ride which took place over six days in late September. The ride went from Specialized’s Global Headquarters in Morgan Hill, California to the Interbike tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The goal of the ride was to bring attention to Specialized’s relationship with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, as well as our overall efforts in the arena of Advocacy.
Entering the fourth year of involvement with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Specialized has donated over $850,000 toward the fight against breast cancer
For 2011, select Specialized dealers will sell limited edition bikes and equipment in support of Komen for the Cure (5% of the retail price is donated to Komen, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $150,000).
Komen funds cutting-edge research to find the cures for breast cancer. In addition, they provide additional monies to pay for mammograms, cancer education, treatment and other forms of direct help to those diagnosed with breast cancer. 84 cents of every dollar spent by Susan G. Komen for the Cure supports mission programs and services.
