SURREY WELCOMES MOUNTAIN BIKE RACERS

SORCE Cycling Club is hosting the fourth annual Junkyard Dog XC Mountain Bike Race on Saturday, May 12th at the South Surrey Bike Park. The Junkyard Dog the first Cycling BC Provincial sanctioned points race in the Lower Mainland and promises to be exciting for competitors and spectators alike. Race proceeds fund SORCE Youth Cycling Programs and volunteer trailwork at the Bike Park. The forested portion of the course is marked year round so check it out solo or join us at our friendly Poker Run style toonie races starting Tuesday, April 10.

The Junkyard Dog starts at 10 am with a frantic mass start. Cyclists peel out onto a fast road section before they enter the twisting, log-strewn trails of the lush, forested Bike Park. The SORCE trailwork volunteers have been grooming the course for months, and it provides plenty of opportunity for competitors to test their technical skills and racing prowess. The tight trail network is also an awesome venue for spectators to check out the action.

Come on out and cheer on the competitors or test your mettle on the course. If you would like to register, head to your local bike shop or check out the SORCE website at www.sorcebikeclub.org. The South Surrey Bike Park is near the South Surrey Arena, 2199 148 Street, just 25 minutes south of the Oak Street bridge.
