North Vancouver, BC (March 26, 2007): The North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA) is pleased to announce the infamous ‘Ripper’ series is back for another season! The 2007 Ripper series will consist of four events with the kick-off event set to take place April 14th, on Fromme Mountain in North Vancouver.
A “Ripper” is an event for anyone who loves to ride a mountain bike on the North Shore trails. Individuals can ride for fun, ride to compete or just to rip it up. Spend the day enjoying your favourite trails, meeting new riding partners and enjoy a great after party – the whole family is welcome! You can still push your limits and have fun, too. It is a ‘Ripper’ not a race.
The 2007 ‘Specialized Presents the North Shore Ripper Powered By Jim Pattison North Shore Toyota Trucks’ features support from Specialized, Toyota, Cycles Lambert, Okanagan Springs, Outdoor Gear Canada and Cowboy Coffee as some of the featured event sponsors. Other event sponsors include Emdoubleyu Design, Silver Star Resort, Ryders Eyewear, Adidas, Endless Biking, Bella Candela, Dakine and Obsession: Bikes.
Pre-registration is strongly advised, with a limit of 150 entrants. Advance entry is $20 and day-of entries at $30 per participant. Entries sell out fast! The ‘Specialized Presents the North Shore Ripper Powered By Jim Pattison North Shore Toyota Trucks’ will require proof of insurance coverage with a signed waiver or the purchase of the NSMBA event coverage at $27. Our coverage will cover you throughout the year at other events with SORCA insurance as an acceptable alternative.
There are always prizes provided by our sponsors and a great after-party scheduled at Bella Candela’s, located at 109 West Esplanade near Lonsdale, in North Vancouver. Expect some creative challenges throughout the day and fantastic wind-up events planned throughout the event season.
Additional 2007 ‘Specialized Presents the North Shore Ripper Powered By Jim Pattison North Shore Toyota Trucks’ dates include; the ‘Super D’ May 12th, ‘CBC’ June 2nd and season wrap up event, the ‘Triple Crown’ July 7th. All proceeds from the event series supports the NSMBA’s trail maintenance program for responsible and sustainable mountain biking on the North Shore.
Updated event information will be provided on the nsmb.com and the NSMBA web site. Detailed volunteer info can be found by contacting Endless Biking. For event and membership information, it is available at nsmba.bc.ca.
